WIWCD Spawning Shoal Assessment

The WIWCD carried out a series of spawning shoal construction  projects on seven Lake Manitoba and Shoal Lake tributaries where channelization has resulted in a decline of valuable fish habitat within region. AAE Tech Services Inc. was contracted to perform a spawning shoal assessment to examine the effectiveness and success of the spawning shoals constructed along these seven drains and to provide guidance on future spawning shoal construction initiatives for the WIWCD. Oak Hammock Ecovan pays visit to schools

Mar 27, 2017 1:58 PM For the past eight years the WIWCD sponsored the Oak Hammock Marsh Ecovan presentations in all school of West Interlake Conservation District area. This year nine out of ten schools from Woodlands to Gypsumvill participated in the Ecovan presentations. A full day worth of learning was sponsored by the WIWCD in each of them.
